It’s a footballer’s dream to score a wonder goal, but to score two in a single match, including the strike that earns your team the three points, is a rarity only afforded to the elite (or the extremely lucky). In the 1993/94 season of the FA Carling Premiership, on Sunday 24th October, Southampton hosted Newcastle United at The Dell. That Sunday evening saw 13,804 pairs of eyes bare witness to a 2-1 victory for the Saints, but whilst the three points was satisfying for the Southampton fans perhaps the two goals Matt Le Tissier scored were much more thrilling.
