Stade Francais Style
2015 has been a standout year for Stade Français rugby, as the All Pinks of Paris captured their first domestic championship of the current decade.
Now, it is with more than a hint of déjà-vu that this leviathan of European club rugby rekindles a winning partnership with ASICS; the winning brand that kitted out the Parisians for their landmark 1997-98 campaign, as they secured their first French title of the modern era.
Continuing their tradition of extravagant and innovative playing apparel, the convention-shattering Stade Français home, away and third strips for 2015/16 are the result of rigorous research and development across the globe – and they really have to be seen to be believed!
With each design a vibrant reworking of traditional club colours and themes, the flagship Stade Français home shirt reimagines the capital city club’s pink stripes as striking bolts of lightning, cutting through a sky of Gallic navy blue.
Blending bohemian vibes and modern psychedelia with elements of Art Nouveau and the Moulin Rouge, this unique take on the Stade Français home strip will be worn by the rugby union champions in defence of their Top 14 trophy.
The new Stade away shirt meanwhile blends the central lightning motif of the home jersey with the proud symbolism of the fleur-de-lis, the Eiffel Tower and Parisian shipping history.
A one-of-a-kind two-tone pink design, the short-sleeved change strip adds further imagery from Greek mythology, intertwined with the Roman numerals ‘XCVII’ to commemorate the club’s first professional French championship of 1908.
Flipping the colour scheme, the third shirt emphasises the artwork in pink detail on a white background; with each option certain to catch the eye in the stands and on the high street.
Made with a base design and material inspired by the South African Springboks and Wallabies of Australia, the colourful capital city side are also poised to have over a dozen players involved in the 2015 Rugby World Cup; including Captain Sergio Parisse of Italy. AC
